Bee experience

An immersive experience for adults and children to discover the world of bees, featuring an apiary visit, a hands-on honey extraction workshop, and an aperitif with local products.

This experience takes place in the heart of the Sicani Mountains, a pristine territory rich in biodiversity, perfect for beekeeping and the production of genuine honey. The activity is designed to let both adults and children discover the secrets of bee life and all the work that goes into every single jar of honey.

The journey begins with a guided tour directly in the apiary or, alternatively, through the close-up and safe observation of an educational hive, to understand the colony's structure and the bees' roles. 

Next, you will move to the hands-on phase inside the workshop with the honey extraction process: participants will take a direct role in every step, from uncapping the honeycombs to jarring the honey. 

The experience concludes with an aperitif featuring typical local products enhanced by the estate's different honey varieties. In addition, each participant will receive a 120g jar of honey as a keepsake to take home.

1. Allergies: This activity is unfortunately not suitable for individuals with known or suspected allergies to bee stings (hymenoptera venom). Please also inform us in advance of any food allergies or dietary restrictions for the aperitif.

2. Accessibility and weather: The experience is suitable for families with children (recommended for ages 3–4 and up). In the event of unfavorable weather conditions (rain or strong winds that prevent opening the hives), the apiary visit will be fully substituted with indoor workshop activities using the educational hive and the honey extraction process.

3. Honey-infused local aperitivo: Sampling regional bites paired with the farm's different honey varieties.

4. Complimentary honey jar: A 120g jar of artisanal honey gifted to each participant as a takeaway.

• Long trousers and high socks

• Light-colored or neutral clothing (avoid black or dark tones)

• Avoid wearing strong perfumes, hairsprays, or scented lotions, as they might disturb the bees
