Sicani lavander

A unique sensory experience in the heart of the Sicani Mountains, discovering a lavender field cultivated through integrated farming, with harvesting workshops and a sunset aperitif.

 This project stems from an important generational transition within a family farm now in its fifth generation in the Alessandria della Rocca area. In 2021, tradition blended with innovation thanks to the vision of a young "agrodesigner", who combined his background in design with a deep love for nature, planting a hectare of lavender to give a new voice and new opportunities to an authentic land. This cultivation is unique within the Sicani Mountains landscape and among the very few present in all of Sicily, managed according to the principles of integrated farming.

The experience begins with a warm welcome featuring a welcome breakfast or afternoon snack. This is followed by a guided walk through the blooming rows, during which the characteristics of the plants, the types of cultivars, and the techniques of cultivation, harvesting, and processing will be described. Next, there will be a practical demonstration on how to harvest lavender: participants will have the chance to try it firsthand in the field, creating small bouquets to take home or participating in flower-husking workshops. The activity concludes as the sun goes down with an atmospheric sunset aperitif, enhanced by local products and specialties specially prepared with the flavor of lavender.
