Short Description
A culinary experience to prepare three traditional Sicilian dishes using organic ingredients, followed by a lunch guided by the stories behind each recipe.
Full Description
You will be welcomed into an apartment filled with carefully chosen details, including vintage furnishings, appliances, and decor that reconstruct the atmosphere of post-war Sicily. Just like in any Sicilian grandmother's home, the kitchen is the most important room—a place where everything is shared, traditions are learned, and the aromas from the stove fill the air. For groups larger than 10 people, from April to October, the cooking class moves instead to the countryside landscapes.
You will prepare some of the most iconic dishes of the Sicilian tradition, following the exact recipes of Sicilian grandmothers, discovering traditions, stories, and anecdotes, along with the value and importance that preparing a meal holds in Sicily.
The menu includes the preparation of three dishes based on organic, fresh, and seasonal ingredients. Just like families used to do, while working at the stove you will hear the history of each dish, the memories connected to it, ancient customs, and popular Sicilian idioms. Once the cooking is done, it is time for the long-awaited part: savoring the dishes you have prepared with your own hands.
